L'Ametlla de Mar

Synonymous with sea, tranquillity and calm

The Mediterranean washes the coasts of this town in the Baix Ebre region. A place of passage for Iberians, Celts, Phoenicians and Romans, it still preserves the purity of its surroundings. The origin of l’Ametlla goes back centuries, when there was only the castle of Sant Jordi d’Alfama.

Currently, the port continues to show the continuous work of seafarers, from the time they set out with their boats until they return in the afternoon, loaded with the day’s catch. All this is reflected in the local gastronomy, of fresh and tasty products.
